33 Surprising Ceremony Songs | Wedding Processional Music

As a Wedding Officiant I’ve been to my fair share of weddings! Hee hee. And I’ve heard a LOT of processional, signing, and recessional songs. Most fade quietly into the background of my memory bank. And then there are some that I remember because they totally surprised and delighted me + how the guests reacted – BIG smiles!

My takeaway is this: The songs you choose for your ceremony should burst your personalities. Songs that, for the rest of your life, when you hear them played you’ll feel a little shiver of joy down your spine. I especially think that the recessional (the end of the ceremony) song should be full on exuberant. This is the moment the ceremony ends, you are officially hitched, and you’re walking into the buzz of hugs and kisses and champagne. You did it! The song should be a shout, a laugh, a hurrah for happy.

(Sidebar confession: I am just waiting for the day when a couple chooses Then I saw her Face by the Monkeys for the signing, and We will Rock you by Queen for the recessional.)

These are just a few ideas…the sky’s the limit really. Use your creativity. Virtually all of these can be found on YouTube so you can have a listen.
